Neon open signs and LED displays are not a strange sight in the Michigan town of Saginaw. The
only thing that might stand out from the typical small light displays is size and design. Monday,
June 14th changed everything however as the city's Castle Museum brought back the city most
memorable 'Leaky Faucet' neon sign, once owned by Brenske.
"There are lots of neon signs in the world but only handful of these extra-large, animated neon
signs like Brenske Plumbing Heating & Supply company once dawned. It's an entertaining spectacle
for those that might pass by and a sign of good times to others," said artist C.KHiD.
The Leaky Faucet was not just another light in the sky but to many it was one of few
neon signs
that reminds people of a past time in Saginaw, Michigan. As everyone grows up, seeing the bright
light reminds them of their hometown or vacation spot, where lots of memorable moments happened.
Hung a few stories high, the Leaky Faucet in Saginaw is a neon sign with a bathroom faucet and
6 droplets of water. The lights go off in synchronized timing so it looks as if the
water spout is leaking water.
A great marketing tool for Brenske Plumbing, the Leaky faucet sign was taken down in 1997. It was
put back up for the Saginaw town fans Monday to reminisce on the iconic landmark and memories.
The Leaky Faucet is now owned by the Castle Museum.
