50 Cent Albums
50 Cent’s debut album Get Rich or Die Tryin’ was released in February of 2003 on Aftermath Records and Interscope Entertainment. Get Rich or Die Tryin’ featured productions by Dr. Dre and Eminem along with guest appearances from Eminem and newcomers who would later form G-Unit, Tony Yayo, Lloyd Banks, and Young Buck. 50 Cent had several hit singles from this album which included 21 Questions, In Da Club, P.I.M.P, and Wanksta. 50 Cent’s debut album was a success and debuted at number one on the Billboard Charts. Get Rich or Die Tryin’ sold more than 872,000 copies in the first week. After selling over 6 million copies in the United States the album was declared sextuple platinum.

The album Massacre was released by 50 Cent in 2005 on Aftermath Records and Interscope Entertainment. The Massacre album debuted at the number one spot on the Billboard charts and it sold over 1.1 million copies in the first week. Hit singles such as Candy Shop, Disco Inferno, and Just a Lil’ Bit came from this 50 Cent album. The Massacre album was later nominated for a Grammy for Best Rap Album of the year but lost to Kanye West’s Late Registration.

50 Cent’s third studio album was released on Aftermath Records and Interscope in 2007 and was entitled Curtis. This 50 Cent album saw moderate success and debuted at number 2 on the Billboard charts. The Curtis album was in competition with the release of Kanye West’s Graduation. Curtis, says 50 Cent, was an album about his life before Get Rich or Die Tryin’.

Before I Self Destruct was 50 Cents latest album and was released in November of 2009. The Before I self Destruct album was his last solo release on his contract with Interscope Ent. Popular singles from the Before I Self Destruct album were Baby By Me and I Get Money. 50 Cent told MTV that he named the album “Before I Self Destruct” because he feels that could potentially happen. He also described this album as dark and aggressive compared to his other works.
